Chief Minister\u00a0Punjab\u00a0Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced\u00a0to\u00a0increase\u00a0the amount\u00a0of\u00a0Honhar\u00a0Scholarship\u00a0Program up to\u00a0Rs 100 billion at the\u00a0Honhar\u00a0Scholarship ceremony\u00a0held\u00a0at Bahauddin Zakariya\u00a0University, Multan.\u00a0She\u00a0announced to\u00a0increase\u00a0additional\u00a020,000\u00a0Honhar\u00a0Scholarships from next year along with\u00a0the provision of interest-free loans\u00a0up to\u00a0Rs 3 crore for new businesses and startups for\u00a0the\u00a0youth.\u00a0She\u00a0also announced provision of one lakh e-bikes to\u00a0the\u00a0students from next year\u00a0along with\u00a0establishing\u00a0e-bike charging stations in\u00a0the\u00a0universities and colleges of Punjab.\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"<\/p>\n

She while addressing the\u00a0Honhar\u00a0Scholarship Program ceremony said,\u00a0\u201cIf we\u00a0look after affairs\u00a0of the youth, we can change the destiny of Pakistan. We will remove\u00a0all\u00a0obstacles in the path\u00a0of\u00a0our\u00a0youth\u00a0to ensure\u00a0a better future for\u00a0them. I was surprised to see young children learning\u00a0artificial intelligence\u00a0in China. We will teach our children artificial intelligence, robotics and other modern IT sciences. Many market-based training programs have also been launched\u00a0for the youth. Internship\u00a0programs\u00a0in agriculture, environment and other fields have been started for\u00a0the\u00a0students.\u201d<\/p>\n

She\u00a0said,\u00a0\u201cThe\u00a0Punjab government\u00a0will give loans to\u00a0the\u00a0children so that they do not become a burden on their parents by studying and doing business.\u00a0We\u00a0are shifting the transport culture towards e-vehicles so that the people of Punjab can breathe clean air. If any child\u00a0remains\u00a0deprived of education, I will\u00a0deem\u00a0it my failure. Students, especially girls, are being provided buses for\u00a0their\u00a0transportation. It is a matter of immense\u00a0pleasure\u00a0that girls are getting sixty percent\u00a0Honhar\u00a0scholarships. Taking admission is\u00a0a duty\u00a0of the children, paying their\u00a0fees is my responsibility.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cThe Punjab government is introducing laptop scheme for the children soon. The first batch of laptops has arrived.\u00a0We\u00a0will also give International scholarships to the youth according to their wishes. I\u00a0urge the\u00a0children to study\u00a0with a\u00a0peace\u00a0of mind,\u00a0paying their\u00a0fees\u00a0is\u00a0my responsibility. The\u00a0Honhar\u00a0Scholarships are given 100 percent on merit, no one was asked\u00a0which party they belong to.\u201d<\/p>\n

CM Punjab said, \u201cAll children are equal for a mother. Unfortunately,\u00a0one child can study in a good university and the other cannot study due to lack of fees. I did not\u00a0pay from my own pocket\u00a0for\u00a0Honhar Scholarship\u00a0Program.\u00a0Funds were available in the past but why they were not spent on \u00a0children education. The\u00a0children\u00a0should\u00a0receive\u00a0scholarships with pride as\u00a0it is their\u00a0\u00a0due\u00a0right. As a mother, I know how\u00a0much\u00a0happy parents\u00a0feel\u00a0when their children receive a\u00a0scholarship. The youth should pledge not to fight against their\u00a0country.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added, \u201cYouth who set\u00a0public properties on\u00a0fire, shoot, and torture the police cannot be friends\u00a0of the state.\u00a0I am talking to the children as a mother,\u00a0the youth should not be misled or be\u00a0exploited by anyone. The\u00a0youth\u00a0are\u00a0guardians of Pakistan\u2019s stability and progress.\u00a0The children involved in vandalism came out of\u00a0prison\u00a0after apologizing, which is deeply regrettable. Having a dissenting\u00a0view\u00a0in a democracy is not\u00a0forbidden, but\u00a0one should\u00a0not abandon the path of morality.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said, \u201cDisrespecting mothers, sisters and daughters does not suit anyone. Societies are recognized by their moral values and behaviour. I\u00a0\u00a0am confident that no one can stop this country from progressing ahead among the comity of nations by looking at the zeal and spirit of our talented students. I salute hard work and talent of our promising students. Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also sent his message of felicitation to the students.
