The chair was briefed on the comprehensive overview of child stunting by lead research economist at the World Bank, Ms. Ghazala Mansuri. She said that it has both adverse physical and cognitive development effects and is a result of chronic or recurrent malnutrition. She further said the critical age of vulnerability to stunting is associated with poor nutrition and repeated infections due to poor water quality and sanitation.<\/p>\n
