During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on making the tax collection system in Punjab more transparent and efficient. It was agreed that the Punjab Revenue Authority, the Punjab Information Technology Board and the World Bank will jointly work on developing an integrated digital database. Members of the World Bank delegation stated that the Bank will extend support for improving the digital infrastructure of PRA\u2019s Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS) and overall database. The delegation further shared that assistance will also be provided to bring 50 small business sectors in Punjab onto the digital system.Chairman PRA Moazzam Iqbal Sipra said that within five years, the Government of Punjab will have its own comprehensive database, which will also pave the way for new employment opportunities in the IT sector. He added that the digital database will help eliminate offline practices, fake billing and fraud related to POS machines.The Chairman further stated that public awareness campaigns regarding bill payments and verification through QR codes and card-based systems will be further intensified.
