Along with the test run of the Violation Detection System (VDS), the process of training the relevant staff has been started. Punjab Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique inaugurated the test run of VDS during a ceremony at a local hotel. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Special Secretary Arshad Baig, Additional Director General Punjab Spatial Planning Authority Um e Laila and municipal officers from across Punjab were also present on the occasion.Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique, while praising the work of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and PITB team, said that today is a historic occasion. &quot;VDS is an important step towards Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif\u2019s digital governance vision. The Chief Minister will soon formally inaugurate VDS&#8221;, he added. He said that with the help of satellite monitoring, construction violations will be detected. &quot;The concerned staff of the local government department will take action after identifying them on the portal. Zeeshan Rafique said that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has completely changed the entire model of governance. &quot;An important milestone has been crossed today in the form of VDS&#8221;, he added. The provincial minister also directed the PMU to develop a 24-hour helpline for the convenience of the public.Addressing the ceremony, Additional Director General Um e Laila said that VDS will come into action as soon as construction starts on an area of \u200b\u200btwo acres or more. &quot;Initially, it was tested in the districts of Sahiwal and Sialkot, the results of which were quite encouraging.
