Secretary P&D Board Dr. Asif Tufail chaired a meeting with a World Bank mission led by Mr. Mohammad Farhanullah Sami, Senior Water Supply and Sanitation Specialist, at the AKS Auditorium, P&DB, Lahore.

A grant of USD 250,000 was approved for Pak-FLOW under the Transformative Carbon Asset Facility (TCAF). The mission aimed to discuss the finance for the Pak-FLOW project, which focuses on lowering emissions in the water sector.

Secretary P&DB Dr. Asif Tufail emphasized the importance of raising awareness among all stakeholders on this critical issue. As a first step, he suggested to launch a plan to educate concerned government officers about carbon credits and latest intervention to address the environmental issues. According to him, capacity building of government representatives to understand Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and carbon credits would enable them to play their roles more effectively.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abid Bodla, Member ID; Mr. Khawar Kamal, Member LG&UD; Mr. Sadaqat Hussain, Member Energy; Mr. Ahmad Rajwana, Sr. Chief ECA; Mr. Dan Radack, Sr. Climate Finance Specialist; Ms. Saba Asghar, Chief Environment; Ahmad Kamal Mann Joint Chief Economist, Mr. Tariq Hussain, Additional Secretary EP&CCD; and representatives from P&DB, LG, and PD PRSWSSP.
