On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Provincial Minister for Housing and Urban Development Bilal Yasin visited Rawalpindi, where he inspected houses being constructed under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme and reviewed ongoing construction activities.The provincial minister said that providing homes to the middle-income segment was among the top priorities of the Punjab government. He stated that, with the support of the provincial government, citizens were becoming homeowners, while the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar programme was playing an important role in providing people with access to dignified housing.Bilal Yasin stated that financial assistance had been provided to 217,520 families under the programme, while 126,239 houses had been completed so far.Visit to Chahan Dam Water Supply Project.Provincial Minister Bilal Yasin also visited the Chahan Dam Water Supply Project in Rawalpindi and reviewed the construction progress of the filtration plant.On the occasion, he said that the Chahan Dam Water Supply Project was a gift from Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for the people of Rawalpindi. Upon completion, the project would help ensure the provision of clean drinking water to several areas of the city.The provincial minister stated that the Chahan Dam Water Treatment Plant was expected to be completed next year and would benefit more than 250,000 citizens. He added that the project would improve access to clean water and help provide essential civic facilities to the residents of Rawalpindi.
