A high-level virtual meeting was held between the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the World Bank to discuss strategic priorities and avenues for enhanced collaboration in the human development sector.The meeting was attended by Ms. Mamta Murthi, Vice President for the People Vice Presidency at the World Bank, Mr. Kazim Niaz, Alternate Executive Director at the World Bank, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mr. Shahab Ali Shah, Additional Chief Secretary Planning & Development Department Mr. Islam Zaib, and the Secretaries of Planning & Development, Industries, Elementary & Secondary Education, and Health.Discussions focused on key development priorities, including strengthening primary healthcare systems, reducing stunting, improving access to quality health services in remote areas, and accelerating the digitization of healthcare delivery. In the education sector, emphasis was placed on enhancing foundational learning outcomes and expanding technical and vocational education to equip youth with market-relevant skills.The meeting also highlighted the importance of job creation through private sector engagement and collaborative development initiatives. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation to accelerate human development outcomes and improve service delivery across the province.It was agreed that a series of follow-up engagements between the World Bank and the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be undertaken to translate these priorities into actionable and results-oriented interventions.
