CDA Chairman Chairs Meeting to Improve Metro and Electric Bus Operations

A meeting on Metro Bus Service and feeder Electric Bus operations was held on Monday at the CDA Headquarters under the chairmanship of CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member (P&D), Member (Engineering), DDG (IPT Wing), Director (BRT), PD (BRT), and other senior officers.

The meeting included a detailed discussion on the operations of Metro and feeder electric buses. The proposals for optimizing existing routes and introducing new ones were thoroughly reviewed. Additionally, strategies for better cost management and gradually reducing reliance on subsidies were discussed.

Chairman CDA directed to develop a comprehensive plan to minimize subsidies while maintaining high standards of public service.

The performance of current operating routes for Metro and feeder buses was also evaluated in details. Chairman CDA directed that these routes be further improved to enhance operational efficiency while reducing the expenditure.

As part of CDA’s vision to modernize public transportation in the capital, discussions were held on integrating electric buses into the city’s transport system. The meeting focused on establishing charging infrastructure at various locations in Islamabad to support electric buses. This initiative aims to make the city’s transport system more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

During the meeting, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reiterated the authority’s commitment to enhancing Metro and feeder electric Bus operations, reducing dependency on subsidies, and establishing a modern, eco-friendly transportation network for Islamabad’s residents. This initiative aligns with CDA’s broader vision of creating an efficient and environmentally sustainable urban transport system in the capital.
