وزیرِ اعلیٰ پنجاب مریم نوازشریف اور سینئر وزیرِ پنجاب مریم اورنگزیب کے وژن کے مطابق، محکمہ کوآپریٹو پنجاب اور اسموگ مانیٹرنگ یونٹ، محکمہ پی اینڈ ڈی (P&D) بورڈ کے درمیان ایک اہم اجلاس منعقد ہوا، جس میں حکومتِ پنجاب کے اسموگ ایکشن پلان 2025–26 میں محکمہ کوآپریٹو کے فعال کردار پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔اجلاس کی صدارت جناب محمد احسن وحید، سیکریٹری کوآپریٹو ڈیپارٹمنٹ نے کی، جبکہ سینئر چیف انوائرمنٹ / ٹیم لیڈ، اسموگ مانیٹرنگ یونٹ، پی اینڈ ڈی بورڈ، ایڈیشنل سیکریٹری کوآپریٹو، جوائنٹ رجسٹرار (فیلڈ) کوآپریٹو، جوائنٹ رجسٹرار (ہاؤسنگ) کوآپریٹو، اور یونٹ کوآرڈینیٹر، اسموگ مانیٹرنگ یونٹ نے شرکت کی۔شرکاء نے پنجاب بھر میں اسموگ میں کمی اور فضائی معیار کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے مختلف اقدامات پر تفصیلی غور کیا۔ اجلاس میں درج ذیل اہم نکات پر اتفاق کیا گیا: لاہور کی کوآپریٹو ہاؤسنگ سوسائٹیز میں وسیع پیمانے پر شجرکاری مہم کا آغاز، تاکہ شہری علاقوں میں سبزہ بڑھایا جا سکے۔تعمیراتی مقامات کے لیے معیاری طریقہ کار (SOPs) کی تیاری، تاکہ دھول اور آلودگی کے اخراج میں کمی لائی جا سکے اور ماحولیاتی ضوابط پر عمل یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔ کوآپریٹو سوسائٹیز اور عوام میں ماحول دوست رویوں کے فروغ کے لیے آگاہی سیشنز اور عوامی مہمات کا انعقاد۔
اجلاس کے اختتام پر تمام شرکاء نے اس بات کا عزم کیا کہ وہ ان اقدامات پر عملدرآمد کو یقینی بنائیں گے، تاکہ صوبائی قیادت کے وژن کے مطابق ایک سمو گ فری پنجاب تشکیل دیا جا سکے۔
Cooperative Department Punjab Collaborates with P&D Board to Implement Smog Mitigation Action Plan 2025–26 — In line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, and the leadership of Senior Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Aurangzeb, a meeting was held between the Cooperative Department, Punjab, and the Smog Monitoring Unit, Planning & Development (P&D) Board, to discuss the Cooperative Department’s involvement in the Government of Punjab’s Smog Mitigation Action Plan 2025–26. The meeting was chaired by Mr Muhammad Ahsan Waheed, Secretary of the Cooperative Department, and attended by the Senior Chief Environment / Team Lead, Smog Monitoring Unit, P&D Board; the Additional Secretary Cooperative; the Joint Registrar (Field) Cooperative; the Joint Registrar (Housing) Cooperative; and the Unit Coordinator, Smog Monitoring Unit. The participants discussed several cross-sectoral interventions aimed at reducing smog and enhancing air quality across Punjab. Key areas of collaboration identified included:• Launching a large-scale plantation drive in cooperative housing societies in Lahore to increase urban green cover.• Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for construction sites to reduce dust emissions and ensure compliance with environmental standards.• Organising awareness sessions and outreach campaigns to promote environmentally responsible practices among cooperative societies and the wider community. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to actively implement the proposed initiatives, contributing towards a Smog-Free Punjab under the visionary guidance of the provincial leadership.
