Secretary P&D Board, Mr. Rafaqat Ali, chaired a meeting to review the revised CM Punjab Green Credit Program (CMPGCP).
The program aims to:✅ Enable the Government to register projects under Article 6 of the Paris Agreement credit mechanism.✅ Design and codify an Emissions Trading System (ETS) for Punjab.✅ Transform the voluntary Green Credit Mechanism into a market-based tradable system to accelerate environmental improvements across the province.During the meeting, participants discussed the enhanced scope of the project, inclusion of new HR positions, and other critical components to maximize its impact in the green credit market.The Chair emphasized the need to revisit the scheme to ensure tangible outcomes, aligning it with international market dynamics and strengthening Punjab’s position in attracting carbon financing opportunities.👥 The meeting was attended by Sr. Chief Environment Ms. Nadia Shafiq, Sr. Chief Consultancy Ms. Shafaq Saleem, representatives of EPD, P&D Board, CMPGCP, and other stakeholders.
