A wrap-up meeting with the World Bank’s Implementation Support Mission on the Punjab Clean Air Project (PCAP) was held under the chairmanship of Secretary P&D Board, Mr. Rafaqat Ali, at the Planning & Development Board, Punjab. The World Bank mission was led by Mr. Frederico Ferreira Fonseca Pedroso, Transport Specialist.The mission reviewed implementation progress across key sectors including transport, agriculture, environment, industry, and project management. Discussions highlighted encouraging advancements such as progress on e-bus procurement, implementation of super-seeder initiatives, expansion of air quality monitoring infrastructure, and the use of digital tools for public awareness and real-time information sharing.
The meeting also focused on strengthening coordination among departments, tracking DLI verification progress, and updating the action plan to ensure timely achievement of project targets and effective risk mitigation.The World Bank team appreciated the collaborative efforts and steady progress, while both sides reaffirmed their commitment to achieving cleaner air outcomes for Punjab through continued coordination and strong implementation.
