Karachi, 12th December 2024 — The Arts Council of Pakistan hosted a heartwarming event today as the District South Administration organized the "District South Appreciation Certificates Distribution Ceremony” to honor the extraordinary efforts of polio workers during the last Polio (SNID) campaign held in October 2024. The ceremony, led by Deputy Commissioner and DHO South, celebrated the dedication and tireless efforts of those working on the front lines to eradicate polio from the District.
The event recognized nearly 125 individuals, including front-line workers, Area In-Charges (AICs), Union Council (UC)-level staff, and the dedicated personnel of the District Health Office (DHO) and District Administration. Each was awarded certificates of appreciation and gifts as a token of gratitude for their unwavering commitment to the cause.
In his address, Deputy Commissioner South praised the high achievers from the October campaign, commending their perseverance and diligence in reaching vulnerable communities. He also encouraged all team members to intensify their efforts for the upcoming campaign scheduled from 16th December 2024, particularly in addressing the challenge of covering previously missed children or whose families refused vaccination.
"Your sincere efforts are the backbone of our fight against polio. The success of the last campaign stands as a testament to your hard work and dedication. Together, we can ensure that no child is left unprotected against this debilitating disease,” said DC South.
The District South Administration, in collaboration with the partner organizations, remains committed to achieving the goal of a polio-free Pakistan. The event highlighted the significant contributions of polio workers and served as a motivational platform to galvanize collective action for the challenges ahead.
