پنجاب سٹیز پروگرام کے تحت گوجرانوالہ اور خانیوال ریجن کے لئے ایک روزہ تربیتی ورکشاپ

پنجاب سٹیز پروگرام (پی سی پی) کے تحت جاری انفراسٹرکچر مضامین کی ماحولیاتی و سماجی مانیٹرنگ اور نگرانی کے حوالے سے ایک روزہ تربیتی ورکشاپ  گوجرانوالہ اور خانیوال کے علاقوں کے لیے کامیابی سے منعقد کی گئی۔ اس ورکشاپ کا مقصد کنسلٹنٹس، ٹھیکیداروں اور میونسپل کمیٹیوں (ایم سی) کے حکام کو جاری منصوبوں کی ماحولیاتی اور سماجی مانیٹرنگ پر تربیت دینا اور ماحولیات اور سماجی انتظام اور مانیٹرنگ منصوبوں (ESMMPs) کی تعمیل میں اپنے کردار کی واضح وضاحت کرنا ہے۔

پی ایم ڈی ایف سی/پروگرام ڈائریکٹر پی سی پی سید زاہد عزیز نے شرکاء کو خوش آمدید کہا اور اپنے افتتاحی کلمات سے دن بھر کا لہجہ طے کیا۔

ٹریننگ میں اہم ماہرین کی جامع پیشکشیں پیش کی گئیں: ماحولیات اور سماجی انتظام کے لئے سینئر پروگرام آفیسر رضوانہ انجم نے پی سی پی کے تحت مضامین کی ماحولیاتی اور سماجی مانیٹرنگ پر بصیرت افروز پیشکش کی۔ ای ایس ایم کے لئے پروگرام آفیسر (پی او) محترمہ تہمینہ کرن نے ماحولیاتی اور سماجی مانیٹرنگ اور نگرانی کے لئے معیاری آپریٹنگ طریقہ کار (ایس او پیز) پر گہرائی سے پریزنٹیشن فراہم کی۔

سیکھنے کے تجربے اور مصروفیت کو بڑھانے کے لئے ، ورکشاپ میں ایک گروپ سرگرمی شامل تھی جس میں ماڈل مظاہروں اور مذاق کی مشقیں شامل تھیں ، جس سے شرکاء کو زیر بحث تصورات کو لاگو کرنے اور تجربہ حاصل کرنے کی اجازت ملی۔

ورکشاپ کا اختتام پی ایم ڈی ایف سی کے  چیئرمین بی او ڈی  پرویز اقبال کے ریمارکس کے ساتھ ہوا، جنہوں نے منصوبے کی کامیابی کو یقینی بنانے میں موثر نگرانی اور نگرانی کی اہمیت پر روشنی ڈالی۔ ورلڈ بینک کے عمران الحق نے بھی ٹریننگ پر اپنی رائے شیئر کرتے ہوئے جاری منصوبوں کی اہمیت اور قدر پر زور دیا

A one-day training workshop on Environmental and Social Monitoring and Supervision of ongoing infrastructure subprojects under the Punjab Cities Program (PCP) was successfully conducted today for the Gujranwala and Khanewal regions. The workshop aimed to train consultants, contractors, and Municipal Committees (MC) officials on the environmental and social monitoring of ongoing projects and to clearly define their roles in the compliance of Environment and Social Management and Monitoring Plans (ESMMPs).

Syed Zahid Aziz, Managing Director of PMDFC/ Program Director of PCP, welcomed the participants and set the tone for the day with his opening remarks. The training featured comprehensive presentations from key experts: Rizwana Anjum, Senior Program Officer (SPO) for Environment & Social Management, delivered an insightful presentation on Environmental and Social Monitoring of subprojects under PCP. Ms. Tehmina Kiran, Program Officer (PO) for ESM, provided an in-depth presentation on the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Environmental and Social Monitoring and Supervision.

To enhance the learning experience and engagement, the workshop included a group activity featuring model demonstrations and mock exercises, allowing participants to apply the concepts discussed and gain hands-on experience.

The workshop concluded with remarks from our esteemed Chairman BOD of PMDFC, Mr.Pervaiz Iqbal, who highlighted the importance of effective monitoring and supervision in ensuring project success. Imran-ul-Haq from the World Bank also shared his feedback on the training, emphasizing its significance and the value it brings to the ongoing projects.
