Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique has said that the establishment of Punjab Spatial Planning Authority (PSPA) is a new model of technological transformation governance. Construction activities will be monitored through GPS. He was presiding over a meeting held at the Civil Secretariat in which the affairs of PSPA were reviewed. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian, Special Secretary Arshad Baig and Additional Secretary Quratul Ain attended while PSPA Director General Muhammad Farooq made a presentation in the meeting.Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique said that the master plans of all districts of Punjab have been consolidated. "PSPA has also zoned commercial, industrial and agricultural land. Satellite monitoring will help in timely identification of illegal constructions and encroachments”, he figured out. He said that under the Chief Minister’s Digital Punjab vision, all the work of the authority will be online. "Applications, he went on, "for residential projects will be processed online through the Planning Support System (PSS)”.
Moreover Zeeshan Rafique said that PSS has been linked with the Punjab government’s e-Biz portal. "PSS will automatically provide zoning reports for the relevant scheme”, elaborated minister. The provincial minister, while praising the work of the Project Management Unit, expressed his resolve that the scope of the Punjab Spatial Planning Authority will be expended gradually.
