Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique expressed satisfaction during a meeting he chaired that the Punjab Spatial Planning Authority (PSPA) construction violation detection system will start functioning from February 15, while the control module of the Planning Support System (PSS) will also become functional on the same day. Secretary Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian and Additional Secretary Ahmer Sohail Kaifi also attended the meeting. On this occasion, the steps taken by PSPA were reviewed.
Minister for Local Government Zeeshan Rafique said that the PSS being linked to the Punjab government’s e-biz portal is a great facility. He said that the processing portal of construction schemes “e-Construction” has started functioning. "With time, PSS will be made easier and more comprehensive”, he pledged. The Minister said that the culture of using green areas without any planning will now end. "Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz herself is the Chairperson of PSPA. The work of master planning will be further advanced with the establishment of the empowered authority” observed he.During the meeting, proposals for the provision of essential items for the Spatial Planning Authority were also considered. The Minister for Local Government directed the Director General PSPA to prepare a summary saying that the Punjab government will provide all possible resources in this regard.
