3rd Lahore Heritage Run Held at Lahore Fort

The 3rd edition of the Lahore Heritage Run, organised by the Lahore Runners Club in collaboration with the Punjab Walled Cities and Heritage Areas Authority (PWCA), was successfully held, with around 3,000 participants from civil society taking part.The run started from Hazuri Bagh/Lahore Fort, passed through Lahore Fort and Circular Road, crossing Kashmiri Gate, Sheranwala Gate and Zakki Gate, before returning through Mochi Gate and entering the Walled City through Delhi Gate. The route continued through Sabeel Wali Gali, Shahi Hammam, Hukka Wali Gali, Gali Surjan Singh, Wazir Khan Mosque, Kashmiri Bazaar, Sunehri Mosque, Rang Mahal, Pani Wala Talab, Langa Mandi and Taxali Bazaar, before finishing at Hazuri Bagh/Lahore Fort.

The Deputy Commissioner Lahore participated in the run as the Chief Guest and distributed awards among the winners. Rescue 1122, PERA Force, Traffic Police and the Police Department provided emergency, traffic management and security support throughout the event.Speaking on the occasion, DG PWCA Najmussaqib said that connecting Lahore’s historic sites with public activities is an effective way to engage citizens with the city’s rich cultural heritage. He added that PWCA will continue to collaborate with different organisations and civil society to promote public engagement with Lahore’s heritage and make its historic sites more accessible to the community.The coordinated efforts of all concerned departments contributed to the successful conduct of the run, while the collaboration between PWCA and Lahore Runners Club highlighted Lahore’s rich heritage and encouraged greater public engagement with the city’s historic sites.
