As Directed by CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Relief Cheques Delivered to Flood-Affectees in Chakwal

On directions of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Member of Punjab Assembly Malik Tanveer Awan and Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Sarah Hayat reached house of a father Shoaib Afzal and his son Haider Ali who died when their roof collapsed during heavy rains a couple of days ago, and presented on behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif a cheque worth Rs 2.5 million to widow of the late Shoaib Afzal who herself was seriously injured in the said roof collapse in Khewal area. Each of the deceased received cheques of Rs 10 lakh, while injured widow of Shoaib Afzal received a cheque of Rs 5 lakh. Shoaib Afzal’s widow thanked Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and her team. Member of Punjab Assembly Malik Tanveer Awan and Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Sarah Hayat conveyed a message of condolence to the widow of the deceased on behalf of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and said that the Punjab government is with her in this hour of grief. On this occasion, Fateha was offered for the deceased Shoaib Afzal and Haider Ali and prayers were also offered for complete and speedy recovery of the injured woman. Deputy Commissioner Chakwal Sarah Hayat said that the real heirs of other people who died during rains in Chakwal district will also be identified and cheques of relief money will be delivered immediately.
