*ADB review mission visits Housing Department Punjab office, detailed briefing on ongoing projects*

— According to the spokesperson of the Housing Department Punjab, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) review mission visited the office of the Housing Department Punjab, where senior technical experts of the department gave a detailed briefing on the ongoing development projects. The meeting was jointly chaired by Secretary Housing Noor-ul-Amin Mengal and Secretary Local Government Mian Shakeel Ahmed.According to the spokesperson, the meeting included an in-depth discussion on the ongoing Rs. 33 billion Rawalpindi Water Supply Project, while instructions were issued to ensure early and quality completion of the project by keeping all technical aspects in view.Feasibility studies for major water supply and sewerage projects in Bahawalpur, Sargodha, and Rahim Yar Khan will be completed, while the Secretary Housing has directed concerned authorities to expedite the process of land acquisition. According to the spokesperson, the deadline for all these projects has been set as 2027.The spokesperson added that the establishment of WASA agencies across all districts of Punjab is progressing rapidly, and the ADB will assist in preparing master plans for the sewerage and water supply systems of all districts.According to the spokesperson, timely completion of the Rawalpindi Water Supply Project will provide clean drinking water to more than one million residents. As per the directives of the Chief Minister Punjab, sources of clean water are also being expanded through surface water treatment.The spokesperson stated that the ADB mission included Shaukat Shafi, Hikaru Shoji, Umar Ali Shah, and Ahmad Malik, who expressed satisfaction over the ongoing projects in the province.
