Pre-PDWP meeting regarding “𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝟏𝟎 𝐙𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐮𝐧𝐣𝐚𝐛” including Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Multan, Kasur, Murree, Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura & Sialkot.Director General, Environment Protection Department, Mr. Imran Hamid Sheikh, briefed the Chair about the scheme. He highlighted that the project is designed to reduce industrial emissions, regulate incinerator operations, and control fugitive dust from construction activities.

It will also eliminate open waste burning, prevent stubble burning, and promote water conservation by minimizing car wash runoff.The Secretary P&D Board stressed that the initiative is a step to tackle Punjab’s environmental challenges. The scheme will be presented in the upcoming PDWP for final approval.Sr. Chief Environment & Climate Change Ms. Nadia Shafiq, Additional Secretary Environment Mr. Tariq Hussain, and other stakeholders participated.
