پنجاب اسمبلی میں قائمہ کمیٹی برائے بلدیات و دیہی ترقی کا اجلاس منعقد ہوا، جس کی صدارت ایم پی اے محمد اشرف رسول نے کی۔ وزیر ذیشان رفیق، ایم پی ایز سمیع اللہ خان اور خرم خان ورک پارلیمانی سیکرٹری برائے بلدیات نے خصوصی طور پر شرکت کی۔ اجلاس میں عامر لیاقت چٹھہ (ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری ڈیپارٹمنٹل کمیٹیز-II)، اسپیشل سیکرٹری، ڈپٹی سیکرٹری، سیکشن آفیسر لوکل گورنمنٹ اور ایڈیشنل ڈائریکٹر لاء بھی شریک تھے۔کمیٹی نے پنجاب لوکل گورنمنٹ بل 2025 کی متعدد شقوں پر غور کیا، جن میں یونین کونسلز کو اختیارات کی تفویض، مشترکہ اتھارٹیز کا قیام، ضلعی میونسپل کوآرڈینیشن فورم، مقامی حکومت کے سربراہ کے اختیارات و فرائض، اور اراکین کے فرائض شامل ہیں۔نئی ترمیم کے مطابق، ڈپٹی کمشنر کو ضلع کا شریک چیئرمین مقرر کیا گیا ہے، جبکہ نوجوان رکن کی عمر کی حد پینتیس سال مقرر کی گئی ہے۔
the Standing Committee on Local Government & Community Development convened at the Punjab Assembly, chaired by MPA Muhammad Ashraf Rasool. Minister Zeeshan Rafique and MPAs Sami Ullah Khan and Khurram Khan Virk also attended. Amer Liaqat Chattha (Additional Secretary, Departmental Committees-II), the Special Secretary, Deputy Secretary, Section Officer for Local Government, and Additional Director Law were also present.The committee deliberated on several clauses of the Punjab Local Government Bill 2025, including the delegation of functions to union councils, establishment of joint authorities, the District Municipal Coordination Forum, duties and powers of the head of the local government, and responsibilities of members.According to the new amendment, the Deputy Commissioner of the district will serve as the co-chairperson, and the age limit for youth members has been set at thirty-five years.
