Gilgit, In a landmark move, Chairperson National Commission on the Status of Women, Niloofar Bakhtiar, today inaugurated resource centers for women in Hunza and Nagar, Gilgit-Baltistan.

Provincial Minister for Women and Population Welfare, Ms. Dilshad Bano, Advisor IT, Ms. Suraya Zaman, and Secretary Social Welfare, Population Welfare and Youth Affairs, Mr. Fida Hussain, also graced the occasion with their presence.
These centers aim to empower women in the region by providing access to resources, support, and opportunities for skill development, economic growth, and social welfare. The initiative aligns with the National Commission’s mission to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment in Pakistan.

The resource centers will offer training programs, counseling services, and economic opportunities, enabling women to play a more active role in their communities and contribute to the region’s development.
"This is a significant step towards gender equality and women’s empowerment in Gilgit-Baltistan,” said Niloofar Bakhtiar. "We are committed to creating opportunities for women to thrive and become agents of change in their communities.”
The dignitaries present reiterated their commitment to supporting women’s empowerment initiatives and ensuring the success of these resource centers.
