A delegation of the World Bank met Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority Moazzam Iqbal Sipra at the PRA Headquarters. During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on making the tax collection system in Punjab more transparent and efficient. It was agreed that the Punjab Revenue Authority, the Punjab Information Technology Board and the World Bank will jointly work on developing an integrated digital database. Members of the World Bank delegation stated that the Bank will extend support for improving the digital infrastructure of PRA’s Electronic Invoice Monitoring System (e-IMS) and overall database. The delegation further shared that assistance will also be provided to bring 50 small business sectors in Punjab onto the digital system.Chairman PRA Moazzam Iqbal Sipra said that within five years, the Government of Punjab will have its own comprehensive database, which will also pave the way for new employment opportunities in the IT sector. He added that the digital database will help eliminate offline practices, fake billing and fraud related to POS machines.The Chairman further stated that public awareness campaigns regarding bill payments and verification through QR codes and card-based systems will be further intensified. He emphasized that a real-time tax collection system is indispensable for achieving higher revenue targets in the province.
ورلڈ بینک کے وفد نے چیئرمین پنجاب ریونیو اتھارٹی معظم اقبال سپرا سے ہیڈکوارٹر میں ملاقات کی۔پنجاب میں ٹیکس کولیکشن سسٹم کو شفاف اور مزید موثر بنانے پر تبادلہ خیال کیا گیا۔پنجاب ریونیو اتھارٹی، پی آئی ٹی بی اور ورلڈ بینک ڈیجیٹل ڈیٹا بیس پر مشترکہ کام کریں گے۔ وفد ارکان کا کہنا تھا کہ پنجاب ریونیو اتھارٹی کے ای آئی ایم ایس اور ڈیٹا بیس کے ڈیجیٹل انفراسٹرکچر کی بہتری کیلئے ورلڈ بینک معاونت کرے گا۔ پنجاب میں 50 چھوٹے بزنس سیکٹرز کو ڈیجیٹل سسٹم پر منتقل کرنے میں بھی مدد فراہم کی جائے گی۔ چیئرمین پی آر اے کا کہنا تھاکہ 5 سال تک حکومت پنجاب کا اپنا ڈیٹا بیس اور آئی ٹی سیکٹر میں نئی ملازمتوں کی راہ ہموار ہوگی۔ ڈیجیٹل ڈیٹا بیس آف لائن اور جعلی بلنگ کے ساتھ ساتھ پی او ایس مشینوں کی جعلسازی ختم کرنے میں معاون ہوگا۔ بذریعہ کیو آر کوڈ، کارڈ سسٹم بلوں کی ادائیگیوں اور تصدیق کیلئے آگاہی مہم کو مزید تیز کیا جائے گا۔ معظم اقبال سپرا نے واضح کیا کہ صوبے کے ریونیو اہداف بڑھانے کیلئے ریئل ٹائم ٹیکس کولیکشن سسٹم ناگزیر ہے۔
