*Suthra Punjab reviews district performance, orders strict field monitoring*

Punjab Secretary for Local Government Shakeel Ahmed Mian on Friday chaired a meeting at the Suthra Punjab Authority office to review sanitation arrangements across the province, with managing directors of all district waste management companies joining via video link. Director General Suthra Punjab Authority Babar Sahib Din was also present.The meeting reviewed in detail the weekly performance of district-level managing directors. The secretary directed that a comprehensive advance plan be prepared for the Eidul Azha cleanliness operation, adding that the Suthra Punjab monitoring system had been activated at the district level and further upgraded across the province. Mr Mian said efforts were underway to ensure real-time visibility of field operations through a digital monitoring system. He added that under a comprehensive beats plan, workers’ attendance and movement would also be monitored systematically.He instructed all managing directors to carry out surprise visits in their respective districts and closely monitor the performance of field monitoring officers. He warned that fake reporting or negligence in contractor monitoring would not be tolerated and strict action would be taken against those responsible.The secretary said the transfer of assets at the tehsil level would further improve daily operations, noting that better service delivery was increasing public confidence. He expressed the resolve that this year’s Eidul Azha cleanliness drive would be implemented successfully under a comprehensive strategy.He further said that resources were being continuously enhanced to meet public expectations, while awareness campaigns were also being run alongside operational improvements.Mr Mian said that a special cartoon series had been launched by the Suthra Punjab Authority to raise awareness among children about cleanliness and environmental hygiene.He added that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a modern sanitation infrastructure had been established in the province, which was playing a key role in making Punjab cleaner.
