Shigar- The search operation for Ryuseki Hiraoka and Atsushi Taguchi, the two Japanese climbers who went missing on Spantik Peak (Golden Peak), has resulted in the recovery of Ryuseki Hiraoka’s body. The search for Atsushi Taguchi continues, hindered by challenging weather and terrain.
The search team, comprising Two Pakistan Army helicopters, crewed by high-altitude climbers and experts, took part in the search operation and they have been working tirelessly in challenging weather conditions to locate the missing climbers. The body of Ryuseki Hiraoka was found 300 meters below camp 3, and the search for Atsushi Taguchi is ongoing.
"The rescue teams are doing everything possible to support the search operation and ensure a swift and safe conclusion,” said Waliullah Falahi, Shigar Deputy Commissioner. "We understand the difficulty of the situation and are working closely with the Japanese authorities to ensure a successful outcome.”
The Embassy of Japan in Pakistan and the Japanese consulate in Karachi have been informed of the developments, and the Pakistani authorities are working closely with them to ensure a swift and safe conclusion to the search operation.
