11,794 Applications Received on E-Biz Portal for Business Licenses and NOCs: Dr. Kiran Khurshid

Secretary Food Safety and Consumer Protection, Dr. Kiran Khurshid, has said that the Punjab government’s initiative to introduce the E-Biz Portal has made business registration easier and more efficient. She stated that the use of modern technology in the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department is an important step toward development.In a statement, Dr. Kiran Khurshid said that, on the directions of the Punjab government, the E-Biz Portal of the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Department has become fully functional. The portal aims to facilitate citizens by enabling them to apply online for business licenses or No Objection Certificates (NOCs) related to food businesses and markets, without visiting government offices.She said applicants can now submit their applications from home and receive their licenses or NOCs within seven days. This initiative will help eliminate unnecessary delays and reduce opportunities for corruption.According to Dr. Kiran Khurshid, a total of 11,794 applications have been received on the E-Biz Portal in recent months. Of these, 10,594 applications were submitted to the Punjab Food Authority. Licenses have been issued for 10,271 applications, while action is under process on 323 applications, which will be issued soon.She further stated that the Punjab Agriculture Marketing Regulatory Authority received more than 1,200 applications through the E-Biz Portal for NOCs, out of which more than 900 NOCs have already been issued to businesses.
